Parking near Barclays Center is a numbers game. The arena at 620 Atlantic Avenue has no parking lot of its own, so thousands of fans on a sellout night compete for the same garages on Flatbush Avenue, Atlantic Avenue and Dean Street.

The garages right beside the arena charge the most. Walk ten minutes, or ride the subway two stops, and the same night costs a third as much. This guide compares real event-night prices with a quiet night, explains the 2026 changes to Flatbush Avenue, and shows how to get out fast when the game ends.

Chart of parking near Barclays Center, event night vs. no event, from $65 next to the arena to $14 half a mile away
Event nights roughly double the price of the garages closest to the arena. The Fort Greene garages barely change.

Prices are before booking fees. Walking times are approximate, based on listed distances.

What the numbers show

  • Event nights roughly double the price of the garages closest to the arena. Atlantic Center went from $20 to $45, and 700 Pacific St from $29 to $60.
  • Games and concerts cost the same. The Nets game and the Rod Wave concert were priced almost identically.
  • Some garages only sell evening spots on event nights, such as 470 Dean St, 670 Pacific St and 375 Dean St.
  • The Fort Greene garages barely change. 481 Hudson Ave and 95 DeKalb Ave cost $14 to $20 whether or not there is an event.

The arena hosts the Brooklyn Nets, the WNBA’s New York Liberty, concerts and family shows, so most evenings in season are event nights. Check the Barclays Center event calendar before you assume a quiet night.

  • Cheapest close to the arena: 375 Dean St at $30, about four minutes away.
  • Cheapest overall: 481 Hudson Ave at $14.28, a ten-minute walk.

  • Fastest exit: a garage east or south of the arena, away from Flatbush Avenue, such as 585 Dean St or 700 Pacific St.

Cheap Parking near Barclays Center

The cheapest way to park for a Barclays Center event is to stop short of the arena. Two options cut the price by two-thirds or more.

Option 1: Walk ten minutes from Fort Greene

Garages on Hudson Avenue and DeKalb Avenue, about half a mile north of the arena, listed event-night parking at $14.28 to $18, about the same as a quiet evening. The walk down Fort Greene Place or Ashland Place takes about 10 to 12 minutes.

Option 2: Park two subway stops away in Downtown Brooklyn

On the same game night, 2 MetroTech at 100 Myrtle Avenue listed parking at $17, and 150 Myrtle Avenue at $18. From Jay St–MetroTech, the R train runs two stops to Atlantic Av–Barclays Ctr. You can also walk it in about 15 to 20 minutes.

Compared with $50 to $65 beside the arena, that saves $33 to $48 on one night. It also keeps your car away from the traffic on Flatbush Avenue when the event ends. Our Downtown Brooklyn parking guide lists those garages in detail.

Atlantic Center and Atlantic Terminal Parking

The Atlantic Center garage is the big garage closest to Barclays Center, and the one most drivers find first. Run by GGMC Parking, it sits under the Atlantic Center mall at 625 Atlantic Avenue, with the entrance at 174 Fort Greene Place.

DetailAtlantic Center garage
SpacesAbout 650
HoursOpen 24 hours, 7 days
Height clearance6’6″
Normal-day rates$5 for 90 minutes, $8 for 2 hours, $10 for 5 hours, $20 for 10 hours, $50 for 24 hours
Event nightsAbout $50 flat at the gate; $45 booked online for the October 21 game and the October 27 concert; $20 online on a no-event evening

For shopping at Atlantic Center or Atlantic Terminal, including Target, this is the cheapest short stay in the area on a normal day. On event nights it fills early and the price jumps, so shoppers should avoid the hours before a game or concert.

The Atlantic Terminal mall sits across Atlantic Avenue above the LIRR station. If you are coming from Long Island, the LIRR to Atlantic Terminal skips the parking question entirely.

Street Parking near Barclays Center

There is street parking near Barclays Center, and anyone can use it. New York City never created residential permit parking around the arena; NYC DOT turned the idea down in 2012. The catch is competition: on event nights, the residential blocks fill hours before the start.

Where to look

  • Prospect Heights, south and east of the arena, around Dean Street, Bergen Street and Carlton Avenue.
  • Fort Greene, north of Atlantic Avenue, around South Portland Avenue and South Oxford Street.
  • Park Slope and Boerum Hill, west of Flatbush Avenue, a 10 to 15 minute walk.

Most of these blocks follow alternate side parking for street cleaning. Check our alternate side parking calendar for the next morning before you leave the car overnight.

Meters on Flatbush Avenue

Under NYC DOT’s 2026 curb plan for Flatbush Avenue, between Dean Street and Grand Army Plaza:

  • Weekdays: No Standing from 7 to 8am, then 1-hour meters, then 2-hour meters until 10pm.
  • Saturdays: No Standing from 7 to 8am, then 2-hour meters from 8am to 10pm.
  • Sundays: time-limited parking from 7am to 7pm.

A two-hour meter will not cover a game or concert, so meters only work for a quick stop.

Tickets to avoid

What’s Changing on Flatbush Avenue in 2026

Driving to Barclays Center this season is different. NYC DOT is rebuilding Flatbush Avenue from State Street to Grand Army Plaza, right past the arena, and the changes affect how you arrive and leave.

  • Center-running bus lanes: physically protected bus lanes in the middle of Flatbush Avenue, with boarding islands. DOT’s timeline has them opening in late fall 2026.
  • Fewer car lanes: one general travel lane in each direction between Atlantic Avenue and Grand Army Plaza.
  • Pacific Street reversed: DOT’s plan makes it one-way westbound between Flatbush Avenue and 4th Avenue, to make the crossings in front of the arena safer.
  • New pickup and drop-off zones for Uber, Lyft and other for-hire vehicles near Barclays Center, plus new No Standing zones.
  • Construction through 2026, done in phases by direction of travel, so expect lane closures and temporary markings.

What it means for you

Allow extra time, and do not plan to cruise Flatbush Avenue looking for a spot. Approach your garage from a side street, and if you are being dropped off, use the arena’s drop-off zones on Atlantic Avenue or outside the Main Atrium Entrance instead of stopping in a travel lane or bus lane.

Getting In and Out on Event Nights

The hardest part of parking for a Barclays Center event is often leaving. When a game or concert ends, thousands of people head for the same garages and the same two avenues at once.

Before the event

  1. Book before you leave home. Prepaid spots are often cheaper than the price at the gate, and the closest garages sell out on big nights.
  2. Check the garage’s exit time. Some event bookings end soon after the event. If you plan to stay for a drink, book later hours.
  3. Arrive 45 to 60 minutes early. Traffic on Flatbush and Atlantic Avenues builds in the last hour, and there is construction on Flatbush through 2026.
  4. Approach from a side street. Enter from Dean Street, Pacific Street or Fort Greene Place rather than circling Flatbush Avenue. The arena’s Flatbush Entrance is temporarily closed, so walk to the Main Atrium Entrance at Flatbush and Atlantic or the Dean Entrance.

After the event

  • Valet takes longer at a sellout. Valet garages bring cars out one at a time, so expect a wait. Self-park garages such as Atlantic Center let you leave on your own schedule.
  • Park away from Flatbush Avenue for a faster exit. Garages to the east and south, such as 585 Dean St and 700 Pacific St, put you on quieter streets.
  • Or wait it out. Have dinner nearby and leave 30 to 45 minutes after the crowd. The same garage, an easier drive.
  • Two stops away, no traffic. If you parked in Downtown Brooklyn, the R train gets you back to your car while the arena garages are still emptying.

Tailgating is not allowed around the arena.

Accessible Parking and Drop-Off at Barclays Center

Barclays Center has no parking of its own, so accessible parking means a nearby garage or a drop-off close to the doors. Here is what the arena’s own guides say, plus the closest garages.

  • Access-A-Ride stop: on the south side of Atlantic Avenue between Fort Greene Place and 6th Avenue, next to the arena and nearest the Atlantic Entrance.
  • Drop-off and pick-up zones: two along Atlantic Avenue, outside the Event Level VIP Entrance and the Atlantic Entrance, and one on Flatbush Avenue outside the Main Atrium Entrance.
  • Inside the arena: elevators serve the Main Concourse, both suite levels and the Upper Concourse, and wheelchair and companion seating is available on all levels.
  • Closest garages: 470 Dean St (215 Flatbush Ave) and 475 Dean St (38 6th Ave), one to two minutes away. Ask for an accessible space when you book. The Atlantic Center garage, about four minutes away, is self-park and open 24 hours.
  • Questions before the event: Barclays Center Guest Services, (917) 618-6111 or [email protected].

A disability parking permit does not reserve a garage space, so book ahead on busy nights.

Parking for Brooklyn Paramount and BAM

Two other big venues share the same garages, and a show at one on a Barclays night makes parking harder at all three.

Brooklyn Paramount, 385 Flatbush Avenue Extension. The restored 2,700-capacity theater, reopened by Live Nation in 2024, sits north of the arena near DeKalb Avenue. The Fort Greene garages are the closest: 481 Hudson Ave and 95 and 96 DeKalb Ave listed $14.28 to $18 on the October 21 game night. Downtown Brooklyn garages such as 2 MetroTech and 150 Myrtle Ave are also a short walk.

BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music). BAM’s own visitor page lists six nearby garages, including GGMC at 66 Rockwell Place, the Atlantic Center garage at 174 Fort Greene Place and 180 Ashland Place. BAM warns that parking fills on evenings when Barclays Center has an event, so allow extra time.

Overnight Parking near Barclays Center

You can park overnight near Barclays Center in a 24-hour garage. The Atlantic Center garage is open around the clock and charges $50 for 24 hours on its posted rates. Booking sites list overnight parking near the arena at about $50 to $60.

If you park in the area regularly, a monthly plan is far cheaper. Weekday and 24/7 plans in Downtown Brooklyn start around $200 to $299 a month; see our Downtown Brooklyn parking guide or call (929) 619-9960.

On the street, overnight parking is legal where signs allow it. Check for street cleaning the next morning.
