About NYC Parkings
NYC Parkings is run by a small team that works in the New York City parking industry. We built this site with one goal: to help drivers find parking in New York City the easiest, most convenient way.
Why we started
Parking in New York City is harder than it should be. Rules change by block and by hour, alternate side parking shifts with the holiday calendar, meter rates vary by zone, and garage prices can double a few streets apart. Working in the industry, we see how often drivers circle, overpay, or get ticketed simply because the information is scattered or hard to read.
So we put it in one place, written in plain English.
What you’ll find here
- Alternate side parking, with today’s status and the full 2026 suspension calendar
- NYC parking rules: street signs, meters, tickets, towing, and the Manhattan parking tax
- Where to park by neighborhood, with typical garage rate ranges
- Focused guides on common problems, like fire hydrant tickets and truck parking
How we check our information
We take parking rules, fines, and calendars from official New York City government sources, including NYC DOT, the Department of Finance, the Department of Sanitation, the FDNY, and NYC311. Our guides link to those sources so you can check them yourself.
When the city changes a rule, we update the page and its date. Garage prices are shown as typical ranges, because operators set and change their own rates, so always confirm the price before you park.
What we are not
We are not a city agency, and we cannot pay, dismiss, or reduce tickets. Our guides are general information, not legal advice. See our Terms of Use & Disclaimer for details.
